The Old Village sits right on the Charleston harbor and is known for its beautiful historic homes, moss-draped live oak trees and small-town feel. Take a morning walk to see all the southern charm at it's finest!
Enjoy a coffee at Gala's Cage & Bakery, a glass of wine a Leeah's Wine Shop or a cozy dinner at Post House Inn, all a close 0.4 miles from the property. Head over to Shem Creek for some amazing seafood, views, and dolphin sightings galore.
You can't miss Pitt Street Bridge for a sunset stroll. It was once a trolley bridge that connected Sullivan's Island and Mount Pleasant and is a site for recreation and relaxation. One of the best views of the sunset over the Charleston Harbor!
The Old Village is known for it's walking and biking accessibility, and there are so many great attractions close by. If you get your fill of walking, Uber and Lyft are readily available in the area to pick you up for a ride anywhere you need.
Historic Downtown Charleston is about a 5-10 car ride over the beautiful Arthur Ravenel Bridge, and is home to amazing shops and restaurants.
If you prefer a beach day, Sullivan's Island is a 7 minute car ride or 25 minute bike ride away. Grab some frose from the Co-Op or some BBQ from Home Team and experience the laid-back beach vibe of the beautiful 2.5 mile long barrier island.

We were in town to visit family for Thanksgiving and stayed at this absolutely beautiful home. Great location! We were able to walk to restaurants, coffee and shops. Our host was wonderful and provided clear instructions for everything we needed to know, and activities in the surrounding area. So many fun things to do, we wish we stayed longer than just one week. John's place was exactly as described (+pictured) and in a great location. Easy to get to Sullivan's Island and into Downtown Charleston. Nice little neighborhood with shopping nearby and a great dinner spot, Post House, within a 5 minute walk. The house was clean, modern, and comfortable for a weekend getaway. If I could give John 10 stars for his place then I would! As a local to Charleston coming back to visit, you won't be able to find a better value and location. John's place was clean, beautifully decorated, awesome TV, and the air conditioning was a huge plus to escape the Charleston heat. You can easily walk to the water from this property, less than 10 mins to Shem Creek restaurant area and a beautiful brunch spot Old Village Post House Inn. Both are worth checking out if you stay at this great property.

I had originally tried to book a place downtown Charleston, but I am BEYOND happy I ended up here in Old Village!!!! The location was actually so much better. The home was beautiful too. I loved every part of the stay. The only thing that took some getting used to was the dedicated parking spot under the house was a little tight….but this could still be the same with any usual city parking garage had we chosen another spot. Thank you for hosting us!

This location is amazing. Walk to coffee shops, dinner in Shem Creek, explore Pitt Avenue, etc. Such a fun area to experience. Home was also very clean!
Highlights:
-Post House Inn. Super cozy spot for brunch/dinner and drinks
-Shem Creek. Really cool spot on the water with restaurants, bars, etc.
-Sullivan's Island. Only a 10 minute drive to get out of the area a bit. Lots of cool shops / restaurants, beach access, gorgeous homes, etc.
-Downtown Charleston. Obviously.
Bit pricey $$ but if you can swing it the location is ideal. Maybe an earlier check-in time? We have a 1 year old and waiting till 4pm was a battle.
Overall great experience and we'd stay here again!

The location of this house is perfect. You can walk to many local establishments which was a lot of fun. If you choose to stay here you must check out Pitts Pharmacy which is only a short walk; built in 1937 it still has the original soda bar. The house was totally updated, very clean and my guests said it even smelled great. Would highly recommend!

This Airbnb is in a great location, just two blocks from a cute little walking area with a couple of shops and cafes. Beautiful walking and neighborhood. Close to everything in Mount Pleasant. John is very helpful and offers lots of suggestions. The main bedroom is a great space, but the second bedroom is pretty small. The kitchen is well equipped and we had everything we needed. Definitely loved walking Pitt street and the historic neighborhood while we were there.

My husband lived in Charleston for 10 years so we were so excited to return as a family with our 11 month old son. The May House is in the perfect location in Old Town Mt. Pleasant. Beautiful beachside neighborhood, walkable to the cutest street with shops, a restaurant, cafe and a Vintage drug store. Shem creek, with lots of restaurants, bars and a stunning boardwalk is a short walk as well. Lots of shopping close by. Can’t say enough about how perfect and special this location is. Easy drive into downtown Charleston as well, but honestly you could just stay around the May House your entire stay.
The home was absolutely pristine. Clean, classic but still with Old Town character and charm. The main room with the kitchen and living room was a comfortable space with beautiful double doors that open to the gorgeous weather. Bedrooms were cool and clean, and baths were lovely as well. We truly did not want to leave. Highly recommend. Thank you so much, John! We hope to be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at John’s listing in Mt Pleasant. The home was spotless, nicely decorated, and comfortable and everything needed is there. The location is such a nice alternative to Downtown Charleston, which is accessible in 10 minutes but quieter and so walkable. The Old Village is beautiful with stately old homes on the water and easy access to Shem Creek with its restaurants and boardwalk. I will definitely return to this property!

Our family had a wonder stay in Mount Pleasant! The house was incredibly clean, modern, and comfortable for our family. It is in walking distance to the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant which is very family friendly and has the most beautiful houses. We were easily able to get to the beach on Sullivans Island and also quickly to downtown Charleston. John was very responsive and was very flexible when we wanted to add an extra day to our trip. We would definitely come back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Charleston. John is a gracious host with excellent communication. The property is in a quiet neighborhood, yet within walking distance of Shem Creek and other great restaurants and bars. It is an easy drive or rideshare to Patriot’s Point, Sullivan’s Island, King Street, or one of the nearby plantations. We had a great stay. The home and location were even better than expected. It was decorated beautifully and had a very sophisticated Charleston and beachy feel to it. Matched the location.
Loved the walkable location. We walked to coffee, lunch, everywhere. It is in the most beautiful neighborhood. We loved exploring the area. Just walk towards the water and you will see the most gorgeous houses and churches! The beach and downtown Charleston are both a 10 minute drive which was perfect.
One note: the check in is not at all flexible, so do not expect to get in even a minute early unless you want to pay. Not an issue for us, but important to note for those traveling long distances! Overall 10/10 experience and we will book again.
