With its friendly neighbors, cozy restaurants, and tree lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charleston’s classic charm. This house is perfect for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Porchetta Shop, Southbound, R Kitchen, Chubby Fish and many more! Our guests and neighbors also rave about Welton's Tiny Bakeshop and Kudu Coffee. We recommend going to either for a cup of locally-roasted coffee or their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops – including antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques – as well as endless buzzing restaurants and bars.
You can walk almost everywhere - but should you want to rest your feet, there are many other options for getting around: Uber, Lyft, Charleston Bike Taxi, Charleston Rickshaw, Green Taxi or Yellow Cab.

Beautifully decorated, cozy, and a great location in a wonderful city! The only negative is the smaller bedroom has no closet, just a few hooks on the wall. It also only has a metal chair for a bedside table. The kitchen is spacious and beautiful and having easy parking is a huge plus in downtown Charleston. We had a great time in Charleston and look forward to returning soon.

Everything was great! Place is a bit smaller than it looks in pictures but otherwise looks exactly as pictured. Value for money isn’t great - expensive for a small apartment though Charleston in general is just expensive. Overall very good!

It's a great little place for a quick overnight trip! The place is adorable - especially with all of the retro decor. Fully stocked with the necessary amenities. We stayed at John's place on a girl's trip with my Mom and sisters... it was perfect for the four of us! The place is so cute and always smelled good when we came back in after a day in Charleston. It was also a convenient location to everything we planned to do. Fuel and the 123 Spring coffee shop had delicious food / coffee and were a quick walk away. It was also nice to have a private parking spot. Overall, we'd love to stay here again if we get the chance to return one day.

The location was perfect. I loved how you can walk everywhere. It was close to King St and all the good spots to eat good food. The place was as described but a bit small for four adults. John was so attentive and was checking on us to see if we needed anything. Overall, great place to experience Charleston.

We gave you 5 stars because the room was nicely appointed and very clean. We loved the retro orange refrigerator. We also liked the secluded parking in the back. The only thing lacking is insufficient shelving and counter space in the bathrooms. Also, more towels would have been appreciated. Definitely recommend this place. John is a great host. I highly recommend John’s Airbnb! Before we arrived, he provided clear instructions and was responsive to all my questions about the neighborhood. The unit itself was comfortable and had everything we needed. There were also unexpected touches throughout the unit. For instance, the top bunk has a pouch to hold your phone and an outlet to plug it in. The neighborhood is walkable and is an easy 10 minute walk to King St. If you need food, snacks, and beverages, there are two small markets within 5 minutes of the unit.

Great place great location. Loved the neighborhood and all the walkable restaurants. We had a car and it was great to have a parking space. Kitchen had everything you would need and individual room climate control allowed you to dial in the temperature you needed (early March we needed some heat and some AC). Was great for us as a couple but might be a bit tight for 4-5 people.

Amazing quaint little place!!!! The decor is fabulous - esp. the fridge! The little things left for your use in the apartment is perfect and the place was very very clean! We felt safe getting in and out and the showers are amazing! Can’t wait to stay again!

BETTER THAN EXPECTED! The write-up and pictures looked great...that's why we chose this place. And the amazing surprise was that it was even better than it appeared! So well done. So many caring touches. Furniture was comfortable. Location was convenient. All of the little extras were impressive. We loved this gem and would definitely choose it again! AND John was probably the best Airbnb Host we have ever had. The communication was proactive and helpful. Each message was timely, clear, concise and very positive and friendly. He should teach the class on how to do this!

We had a great few days in Charleston at John's place. It was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The lounge is small for four people but we were out all day anyway. The kitchen is nice. The apartment is ideally situated, the neighborhood feels safe and it's quiet at night. You can easily walk to bus stops to catch the free bus.
