We had a great stay at the Monroe

We had a great stay at the Monroe! My daughter loved hanging out in the bunk beds. The beds were comfortable and we loved the updated bathrooms. Host was very responsive. It was walkable to so many restaurants. Thanks for a great stay!

This property had serious health and safety issues

This property had serious health and safety issues. We found German cockroach egg casings in the bathroom and black mold on the air vents. Both are unacceptable in a short-term rental. Instead of enjoying our stay, we spent time cleaning and sealing our belongings to avoid bringing pests home. Guests should be warned that this space is not properly maintained or safe for families.

The Apartment was big, beautiful

Alexander De Fee
The Apartment was big, beautiful. Location was great. That said, this place missed on a few very basic things required for it to be recommended. 1) The primary bedroom has an extremely bright streetlight right outside. The windows only have sheers, so it was like daylight in the Primary bedroom all night. Reached out to the management company for help, and their suggestion was to "lower the (Non-existing) shades". I get that if the light was put in after this place became a short-term stay rental, but it made the main bedroom unusable, and needs to be addressed. 2) A LOT of roaches in the apt. Reached out to the management company and was told not to worry, they are just "Palmmetto bugs". You say patato, I say patateo... Again, used to city living, roaches are a fact of life, but there were A LOT. To the management company's credit, they did offer to come spray for them. We didn't take them up on this, as we have little kids. Few CRITICAL fixes CRITICAL & it would be A+

Great home centrally located in the heart of Charleston. We had a couple of issues, one with hair on sheets and the other with master bathroom door knob falling out. The host was quick to respond and offered to send housekeeping the next day to change them out. Other than that, great stay.

This was a two night stay for my friend and I on a road trip. It was perfect for our needs and not far from the downtown area.

First off - the location of this property can’t be beat. Short walk to great bars and restaurants. Be sure to check out some of the smaller venues close by - Roseline and Guilded Horn. - were great places where locals go. For an older property, everything worked as expected. Good water pressure in the showers, cold AC,, drains/toilets worked as they should. Baths and kitchen are spotless. Decor and beds are higher end and comfortable. One minor misstep - there weren’t any hangers in the one (!) closet and rolling rack. We traveled by air and had clothes - mainly shirts - that needed to be hung. We notified the property manager right after we checked in that there weren’t any hangers. They responded that hangers were in the closet. We sent photos showing the hanger-less closet and rolling rack. Two days later they responded that due to an internal computer issue they didn’t get the message in a timely manner. They could have still delivered the hangers before we left but didn’t.
