With its friendly neighbors, cozy restaurants, and tree lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charleston’s classic charm. This house is perfect for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Porchetta Shop, Southbound, R Kitchen, Chubby Fish and many more! Our guests and neighbors also rave about Welton's Tiny Bakeshop and Kudu Coffee. We recommend going to either for a cup of locally-roasted coffee or their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops – including antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques – as well as endless buzzing restaurants and bars.

The host was very responsive and quick to answer any questions we had during our stay, and they were more than happy to help whenever needed. The home itself was comfortable and well suited for a large group, with very comfortable beds and sleeping arrangements for up to 12 guests. For larger groups, it may be helpful to bring additional disposable utensils, as the kitchen supplies were a bit limited for a full house. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and appreciated the host’s communication and the comfort of the home.

The good first: the location was excellent — very walkable to King Street, which made exploring the area easy and enjoyable. On-site parking was also a big plus. The home itself has a lot of character and is beautiful in many ways. That said, for the price we paid (nearly $4,000 for just a couple of nights), there were several disappointments. The walls were noticeably dirty and badly in need of paint — the level of wear and tear was excessive for a rental in this price range. Honestly, I would be embarrassed to rent a home out in this condition. The check-in time of 4 PM also felt cumbersome, especially given the short length of stay. Lastly, the surrounding area was much noisier than expected, which made relaxing in the home more difficult. Overall, while the property has potential and some great features, the upkeep and value for the cost just didn’t meet expectations.
