Lots to like and appreciate: clean, easy to find and accessible location to what we came to Charleston for. Two bedrooms are located on the entrance floor, both with equal sized bathrooms. Middle floor is the living room and kitchen and porch. Upstairs on the third floor are two more bedrooms that share a very small bathroom.
Challenges: faucet upstairs has very little water so just drips … luckily for us the shower had water pressure. The toilet and shower are in a tiny teeny space … with so much room everywhere else it’s rather odd.
Then early both mornings like around 6 am loud thumping noises like a neighbor dragging luggage down external stairs woke us up. Then an hour later very loud sounds of animals scratching thumping knocking on the upstairs ceiling woke us up and kept us up … what’s up there in the attic? So loud and a bit scary … sorry don’t think we’ll be back here ….
Unfortunately
Unfortunately, the home is located directly next to a large noisy generator or HVAC unit for the hospital and it was horribly loud at every hour of the day. This was obviously difficult for sleeping. And generally just annoying. We did report it and the staff kindly acknowledged knowing about the noise. But quite frankly it’s not a solvable problem other than not staying there. I would not stay in that home a second time. The home also needs interior painting. It looks worn. The location is good.

This was such a gem of a place
This was such a gem of a place. Lovely updates inside and plenty of space to stretch out and give all guests an area to both gather and retreat as needed. Parking was doable with both our vehicles and we were within walking distance to many places, including King street. We would definitely stay at this location again in the future. Owner was responsive and easy to work with.
